Re: Best amp for country
Normally I wouldn't say "definitely X or Y" because there are so many variables but... in this case... TW Rocket is pretty hard to argue with. Definitely try a big-bottle one (6L6 or EL34, they can be interchangeable). Pairing with a 2nd amp is always good, but if you go for only 1 - I'd say that is...

Re: Ceriatone SSS Clips
They should have done a clip with a strat, and with a better mic. But for me - that sounds much better than any other SSS clip I've heard outside of Stevie himself I suppose (which means - I never thought much about most SSS clips, I'm just not a fan. Give me a Hiwatt instead? ) So I guess this mean...

Re: Nice clips Richie!
I've heard those clips from Richie Hall I think (whoops, I misspelled the name earlier, sorry) -- but maybe it was mhuss? I can't recall, one of the two. From the 18w site or mhuss' site. All I know is I've heard them before from someone here

KLD Guitar amps (asia)
Take a listen to the clips, let me know if anyone else recognizes them
I've seen quite a few companies in EU now selling amps that look exactly like the pics from KLD.

Ya, that was definitely both interesting and sad
Keep in mind though, what do people from other places feel when watching toddlers and tiaras?

Re: PPIMV on an AB763? Anyone tried one?
allen is PostPIMV, DR Z is Pre PIMV Interesting. I had only ever seen inside an Allen, haven't seen inside any of the other companies I mentioned. Thx for info. I wonder about other companies - I had simply assumed they had used postPI, since it has good results. to the OP, I have used PostPI in BF...

Re: PPIMV on an AB763? Anyone tried one?
There are quite a few boutique amps that are BF based and have ppimv, I believe (allen, bruno, drz ezg50, tophat, ?) - I'm not an expert on any of those so could be wrong, but thats what they seemed like to me

Re: Deluxe AB763 new build :-) but LDR vibrato started thumping?
ampdoc1 - that looks really similar to something I'm just planning out, how neat. I'd love to hear some of your experiences with trials of that build. My idea might be a bit different, I'm building into a silverface bassman and am thinking that the bass channel will be tweed bassman and normal chann...

Re: Why is a single channel amp inherently better than a multi?
that being said, I do agree in a large way. I had a modified old fender with 1 channel BF clean and 2nd channel set to a very trainwreck-inspired distorted channel. I thought it'd be useful to switch between the 2 and have slightly different EQs, and have a clean channel to use as a pedal platform -...

Re: Why is a single channel amp inherently better than a multi?
when people say that, they are usually comparing typical 60s amps to typical 90s amps, etc. I'd also say Dumble is 1 channel, and a Twin Reverb is 2 channel. So how about that - the saying is similar to people with "master volume amps aren't as good as NMV" - they typically mean early plexis to JCM9...

Re: Ripper clean channel w/ Megaplex OD...
da Geezer - how do you feel this compares to your TweedMaster? I was just researching two builds I'm planning whenever I can get parts. One will be Plexi focused and sounds like it'll be close to a Ripper w/HRM and Plexi output similar to described here, and the other was going to be some sort of cr...

Re: Which Tweed?
I agree The thing is, you're building the amp yourself so you are not limited to Fender's choice of circuit + speaker combo :) If 5e3 is too small for you, do a 2x6L6 or 4x6v6 5e3 with 2x10" - would sound great The 5e3 circuit will break up easier than the others. Of course, a normal 5e3 is plenty l...
