Re: The Immortal Amplifier
Hello R.G. -- Interesting thread. A less rigorous datasheet based spreadsheet analysis done during COVID lockdown suggested parallel gang of quality "box" film caps would suffice for that critical first stage. Of course no records remain, however after quick dive into Digikey selector and review of ...

Hello Aaron --
Cap can replacement in process, good. Was -34V power bias part of "voltages are all close to spec" tests? Can you scope the output of reverb recovery when in "whistle" mode?

Hello -- Wide an elasticized topic: here's one some few of y'all will appreciate. guitars, off to the Met .. The article is confusing for so many of my friends. Perry says we and us meaning the idea between him and Dirk being a team. It is what Perry has done for most of his life with Dirk's money....

Re: Known Problems with the Site
Hello Phil -- One of the newer hosting service infestations are automated "content" harvesters collecting training data for feeding LLM training. Like the search scanners of old but people tell me there are many more active, they less well behaved, and making more frequent sweeps. If this is indeed ...

Re: "too many requests errors" on this site
Unclear what level of control the current tech team has. It is definitely limited for reasons unknown and seemingly unreasonably. That said, there are versions of the phpBB foundation stack with controls to apply limitations to "visitors". Perhaps some investigation opens the potential to mitigate? ...

Re: Anyone still have a layout/schem for the Bassman/Longhorn mods?
Hello -- Thanks for helping. Is that a current number? Perhaps take 30 seconds and try dialing him, and discover it could be? As aside, board logging for BillyZ shows him still active here in early January. Here you go. That seems like the normal Fender circuit. Really didn’t see any difference. If ...

Re: Anyone still have a layout/schem for the Bassman/Longhorn mods?
BillyZ has shared his phone number many times over the years -- +1.512.590.9234. Suggest you try calling and encourage him to perhaps post those schematics here on TAG for posterity.

Re: Sound clips of resistor types
We are still talking about this? I am seriously MIF'd! ;^) This means that to have confidence that there is an audible difference in the sound of resistor types, Mr. Fisher would require eight blind trials with two types of resistors (A and B), where four of the trials had type A installed and four...

Re: Anyone still have a layout/schem for the Bassman/Longhorn mods?
Hello — There are enough posts here on TAG covering the longhorn by member ‘billyz’ to reassure even a serious skeptic that he’s the originator. Has not posted for a few years but the profile suggests he still logs in from time to time. Try sending DM? Billy Zoom is a guitarist known mostly the exce...
