Re: Mitch Colby and the Sun Dragon.

Wow. $12.5K each for those first 50 amps! Sounds good, but atsa-lotsa-chedda. Wonder how much the other version will be?

Re: I ... ahhhh ... What the heck?

I totally get your frustration. My thought though, is that it'll be a lot easier for you to argue that the damage was due to poor packaging than nefarious acts by the seller. As difficult as it might be, I suggest that instead of taking an adversarial stance, you take the position that you're empat...

I ... ahhhh ... What the heck?

So, I "buy" a Mastercraft 800 x-y table from eBay and anxiously await it's arrival ... and wait ... and wait. Enter a "hey, can you find my package" request through USPS.com and it finally shows up a few days later. Now, this is a 15 pound piece of precision cast iron machinery - no longer manufactu...

Re: Routing hardwood

To avoid tearout at the end of a cut when going across the grain, I've used a sacrificial pusher with pretty good results.

Re: is this the answer to our dreams-Boss Waza tube expander

I've been an Apple user since 1986 and only had one piece of actual Apple hardware fail (original white iMac), and that was onboard graphics so it still might have been another vendor's product. It's solid stuff, and any other failures have been with "other" components such as third-party graphics c...

Re: Some profiling Fun

Sounds like a good representation of the originals, from what I've heard of them (haven't heard a Friedman "in the flesh", etc.). Nice to be able to capture a the best gear in a single unit.

Looks very nice. They seem to cover all the bases. Wish it was a little less expensive, but I suppose it's not that bad given all of the functions.

Re: Woodworking videos worth watching.

Thanks. I'll check this guy out. I like Stumpy Nubs and John Heisz (his builds, not his rants). Need a better cross cut sled than my original, but I agree that jigs seem to be where it's at. Wish I'd taken that shop class I dropped in High School. I wanted to build a guitar, and they started at with...

Re: It's a Miracle!

I hear you. I have a 48G emulator on my iPad, use a 48GX at work, keep a 48G where I wind pickups and a 15C here next to the computer. I wanted a garage calculator for woodworking and other projects and loaded up an old Sharp calculator I bought only because it does various unusual calculations usef...

Re: Expression trouble, need help

I'd consider "tidying up" the bright switch wiring. That area can cause issues and you have a lot of wire flying about there. I like the concept of rotating the volume pot for the shortest possible distances ... works well for me. Not sure who came up with this method (Martin Manning?). There are so...
