Re: Silverface Champ blowing my GFCI outlet breaker…why?
Unsoldered it from the fuse and put shrink tubing around it. No more Kablewie! Thanks for the info.

Re: Silverface Champ blowing my GFCI outlet breaker…why?
I'm assuming the Death Cap, which apparently isn't needed, is the big blue cap from the fuse to the chassis. I should remove that?

So what can I do about that?Firestorm wrote:Champs from that era and earlier run half the heater circuit through the chassis. Probably the GFCI can see that, especially with a three-conductor cord.

Re: Silverface Champ blowing my GFCI outlet breaker…why?
To clarify, the breaker in the wall outlet, those little buttons between the AC outlets, which I'm assuming it's a GFCI, started occasionally blowing and I couldn't figure out why. I'd pop the breaker and it would be fine for a while, and then blow again. Out of frustration, I unplugged everything f...

Silverface Champ blowing my GFCI outlet breaker…why?
Someone loaned me an old silver face champ as a possible trade that seems to be blowing my GFCI circuit breaker. Just plugging it into the wall seems to blow the breaker. Sometimes it won't and it sounds pretty good. The amp fuse is supposed to be a 1A 125V and currently there is a 1A 250V fuse insi...

favorite 6v6's for D'lite?
Mine is a 44 with taps for 6L6's or 6V6's, of which I'm using a quad of JJ's right now. I hear good things about the Tung Sols. Any opinions on this?

That sounds about right. I'll give it a whirl and hope nothing blows up.

D'Lite44 6L6/6V6 ohms question
I've got a D'Lite 44 build with 4 power tube sockets and a switch on the OT taps. Am I correct in thinking that with the switch on 4k primaries the ohms will be 4/8/16 with 2 6L6's, and on 8k the ohms will be 4/8/16 with 2 6V6's? Will that change if I throw in 4 6V6's? I play more than I build, so I...

Adding a choke/resistor 3-way switch and could use some help
I'm adding a choke to my D'lite and on the one hand, it's easy for me if I add the 3-way standby before the two 100uf/350v caps, just as it's wired, but Moss suggested it's better to load those caps before the switch. I'm just confused about the wiring. Any advice or diagrams?
