The usage of to tools.

These are classic examples of "O'Briens Law"

O'Brien was the first person to realise that "Murphy " was an optimist.

I heard a voice that said "Smile, be happy things could get worse"
So I smiled and was happy and things did get worse.

4 button box

I think you may find Weber sells a 4 button box. Just the box. I have no idea what the quality is like but it may be worth a look. Alternativly get a local sheet metal worker to duplicate one for you.

Re: Safe to use simple DPDT foot switch as speaker A/B switch?

Put a 270 ohm 5 watt resistor across the output of the output transformer. Highest impeadance to ground. 270 ohms in parallel will have negligible on the speaker and protects transformer when there is no load(either switching or forgeting to plug speaker in before turning amp on: not that any one of...

Re: Dropping string question

Have a look at the example you cited(Dumbleator). There are two stages:- the top one has 200 and somthing volts the bottom one has 300 and somthing volts. Each of these stages are biased on so that the input signal causes a variation of voltage on the grid. So each stage has a quiescent current. Let...

speakers for a Marshall

Before commiting yourself to a particular speaker you need to ask yourself two questions. Why are Marshall 50 watt valve heads usually sold with a quad box and 100 watt ones with two quad boxes. What sort of speakers do Marshall put in those quad boxes. If you are playing a relatively clean amp eg F...

Just as an aside the Very First JTM45 was a Fender 410 Bassman. Same valves, same components in a chassis turned up sidedown which put the inputs at the wrong end. Like al large amp makers Marshall is cost driven. 6l6 output tubes were imported in England so Marshall switched to a locally produced Mu...

If you look closely, at enough Fender ccts, you start to see the simularity in different models in the same era. eg look at the Bandmaster, the Pro and the Super. Karl Marx

Gentlemen

According to "The Concise Oxford Dictionary of Quotations"

The quote should read "Religion...is the opium for the people" and it came
from "Critique of Hegel's Philosophy of Right"

I have not read Das Kaital so I conceed that there may be a similar
quote contained therein.
