Re: Anyone use their Wreck for clean tones?
I had a problem with my amp switcher when I was using my two wreck setup. I went with the express and I almost liked the clean tones better than the rocket, almost! Phil

Re: EL84...what do you like?
I can't say enough about used mullards. A friend of mine came into a bunch of heathkit power supplies a few years ago, they all had mullard el-84's in them. He made me a bunch of quads based on current draw and sold them to me for $8 apiece! I've ony had on go south on me, in a marshall pa 20. The d...

Re: Bruno schematic
In the small amount of amps that I've built, when I'm planning my next one I'm always trying to make it easier to service in the future. Let's face it there are a lot of components that will need to be replaced over time in a tube amplifier. I've never heard or seen a Bruno, except for online, and I...

I'd check your wall voltage at different times of the day, it varies in the US. Phil

Re: How Close Can You Safely Get to a PT's Current Rating?
I'm using an onetics ac-30 power transformer, and his 30watt high def output. I was surprised to see someone else that likes 6aq5's, let alone doing a six banger too! I'm still drilling my chassis and making changes, but I hope to be bolting parts in and soldering this weekend. Phil

Re: How Close Can You Safely Get to a PT's Current Rating?
That's great, I'm actually working on a six 6aq5 amp myself right now! I really fell in love with the 6aq5's after I got a little selmer combo that used them. I can't wait to hear how your amp sounds. Phil

Re: Ceriatone Express Upgrades?
I used a ceriatone chassis for my express and moose's iron bolted right in. I have been using amperex el-34's for over a year and the amp sounds better everytime I play it. When I first built it I used some jj el-34's and they sounded like crap, nos 6v6's sounded much better. I scored the amperex el...
