Re: Radionette K3
Sorry, no. :? After re-soldering the 6.3V wires to the trafo, and swapping those electrolytes, the owner was so happy with the sound that i wasn't allowed to change anything else, so i didn't pursue the search for the schematics... I guess NRHF is still the best bet... I've been silent here f...

Re: Radionette K3
Well, i do have some 25V caps but they're used, and those 450V i have are new - and i have lots of them... ;) No other reason... :) I haven't touched the inputs, since the owner like the sound as it is, and yes - there's some hissing noise when cranked up, but it's bearable. Putting your hand close ...

Re: Radionette K3
Haven't done much on this amp yet, but i've disconnected the two 2x20uF caps in the power supply, and installed new ones on the underside of the amp; that way, it looks original from the top. ;) This removed the hum, so those old caps was no-good... :) Now, there's 2 more 'multi'-caps in the power s...

Now, FC... You're asking the 'elitist' for help here, an i for one count you among them. :) I support Jana here; something strange in your coffee this morning i think... I've followed your designs for small amps for a while, and i think they're excellent. I have a couple of friends which w...

Well Mr Fowler, you keep that axe sharp then; no knowing what will happens... Yes i understand that many Norwegians settled there when they migrated in the late 19-century... Wonder how it would have been here if they hadn't... :? That power resistor are about 1/3 larger than the original;...

Oh, more than one Viking are probably many... I know there are more than you and i here, so let me count; One, Two, MANY! :D Yes, checked with Nrhf... They're too attached to radiowaves, which we do the utmost to avoid in our constructions... Swapped the 100uF red cap with one at 22uF, and...

Radionette K3
I'm doing an overhaul for a friend of mine, and wondered if anyone have a schematic for this Radionette K3? It has 4 EF86 preamp tubes, one 12AX7, and four 6L6GC output tubes, rated at 50W output. 4, 8, 16 and 32 ohm speaker output plus an 100V speaker output. 2 microphone, 1 turntable and 1 tape in...

If you have a reasonable good digital camera, it's easy to make a good repro, which doesn't need to be taped together...
Good light, a camera stand, and set the camera on timer should provide a good sharp copy.

Re: Making holes in foam rubber for tube storage?
We have a number of hand punches at work...well, hammer punches. duh...they're called 'round hole arch punches'. http://www.csosborne.com/nok14.htm Some time in history; the english language went straight west... Now, they're a bit more than an arch, aren't they?! :D Sorry, couldn't resis...

Re: Making holes in foam rubber for tube storage?
I've considered hole punches as an alternative, but unless one manages to compress the foam straight down before punching, the holes are going to be rather funny... ;) I also tried to put my solder-iron to a piece of foam rubber, and i'm NOT going that way... For the time being, i'll stick t...

Re: Making holes in foam rubber for tube storage?
I've made a simple storage with what i had, and i ended up with drilling holes in a piece of pine. ;) [img:800:600]http://mwlmf.net/albums/tubestorage/100_2872.sized.jpg[/img] [img:800:600]http://mwlmf.net/albums/tubestorage/100_2871.sized.jpg[/img] The wood-drillbits i used left a nice conical hole...

Re: Resistor leads too short
On elongating legs, i'm with Phil_s; 'twist a hook on the lead and the extension, clamp them in your pliers, solder, and cover with heatshrink if needed.' (Or with the cloth-cover from new 'vintage' wires. )

Re: Bench Test for Speaker Impedance
By varying the size of the hole on the backside, you alter the point where the lower frequencies manages to get around to the front and short-circuit acoustically... Like one does with an bass-reflex port on a hifi speaker... It should be calculatable with the t/s parameters, volume of the cabinet a...

Re: Making holes in foam rubber for tube storage?
Yes, both plastic cartons and pick bins would be ok for seldom used tubes. I was just down in my wood-workshop and drilled lots of 22mm holes; 1.25" deep, in a piece of 1.5" x 4" plank; 14" long. Ended up with 52 holes... :D It turned out to be working rather good, but i drilled the holes too close ...

Making holes in foam rubber for tube storage?
I'm having too many tubes without a carton now, and i'm pondering on how to best make a storage 'rack' for them... Foam rubber would be nice, but how does one make nice uniform holes for the tubes? A heated wire? Any other ideas on how to make a storage for tubes that also makes it easy to keep a sy...
