I used all metal films in my Concorde and it sounds great.
I dont have it setting beside a real concorde so cant say it sounds 'right'.
But great will do!

Re: First post New Amp Build
Great looking build. welcome Jeff! On the handle, i bought a HotRod deluxe 1x12 about a dozen years ago. Was walking down a flight of stairs coming out of a gig one night when the dogbone broke off one side. I had a guitar in the other hand and gigbag over my shoulder.. fortunately the other side he...

Re: Iron for D build
Yes Tom. Magnetics stuff is cheap for 120V, but jumps a lot to 240V
I can get Hammond here, but its much more expensive.

Re: If you were going to build two Dumble clones at once...
Glad i read this post, ive been looking for a rawer D build for ages. I really liked what i heard in that second clip. I got a chassis couple weeks ago, and am sourcing parts now, looking forward to my first D build. I really liked Bob Reinhardts Sonoma tones too, bit closer to where i wanna be. Kin...

Re: Fender Hot Rod Deville
These are great sounding amps stock! I saw Mike Landau using a pair of 2x12's recently, i assume they were hired backline, therefor stock. Sounded killer. I had an unmodded 4x10 on my bench a year ago with burned out load resistors on the PI. Fixed that and his ass about speaker wiring he had done, ...

Re: Best carbon comp supplies?
the amp i had does not have the xtra 200R between rec and choke, has the same secondaries so i guess the higher B+ from spec is due ti the missing 200R. Personally i reckon 330-335V is spot on for EL84's.
