Re: Silver Mica treble cap problems.

yes.....lots of trouble after about a year in use in the tonestack. Don't use them any more and I swap them out when amps come back in for service.

Re: mesa tremoverb issues

I've had this very issue recently. It was a leaky low voltage cap near the PI valve. Remove the cap and clean the board thoroughly.

Re: Fender HRD volume pot

I have found that placing an 82K resistor directly across the volume pot brings the clean channel back to a usable sweep. Does not affect the reverb drive of the drive to the overdrive valve.

Re: Another OD tone stack idea?

I use the James Tone stack after the O/D section. Gives great versatility as you describe with flat response as needed. I use high value pots so that I don't load the anode so much ...and the loss is less also.

Re: best soldering station for work on tube amps

I see you are in Italy. This is one of my soldering stations (also have Oki/Metcal and Weller). [http://www.ersa-shop.com/ersa-icon-nano-elektronisch-geregelte-l%C3%B6tstation-standby-antistatisch-p-364.html] I find this station is very good. Have it 4 years and use it 9 hours/day. Very reliable and...

Re: Dovetailed walnut cabinet

Russ. This is a strange sort of hybrid. It's got a JMP 50 watt power stage a Fender clean channel with reduced value bypass caps and a Dumble OD section with post OD 'James' tone stack. It also has a Fet driven parallel effects loop with return level on the front panel. Sounds great

+1. CE is mandatory and additional earth bond, insulation, leakage and HiPot testing must be completed during build.
