Re: Will a d'lator type effects buffer an work with an express?

Thanks Geezer,

I've just got the same model from Nik but I'm struggling a little with settings. Good to know that it will work as anticpated with percerverence though.

Could you supply some example settings please?

Will a d'lator type effects buffer an work with an express?

As above I want to add very subtle delay to my express.

I've had a basic insert type effects loops added to my clone and as expected it overloads my pedals.

Will an external effects buffer allow me to drop the pre amp signal to instrument level and then ramp it back up into the power amp?

Re: How do you set the Brite switch on your Express

Mines also a Ceriatone built by Nik and I have to use the 5k2 setting too. I always use the amp in the brightest position but set the eq up with my Strat with the presence just lower than straight up, and treble well down (just above a quarter) and I find that when I then switch to my Les Paul every...

Re: Ceriatone Expression (with TGP mods) - Initial Thoughts

You put Gear Page mods into an Express? (TGP) Yep and then over time systematically switched them all back off again too ..I'm guessing there's a lesson to be learnt somewhere there ..though I clearly didn't learn it as I'm still glad I did it to find out what worked for me 8) That said if I ...

Re: Ceriatone Expression (with TGP mods) - Initial Thoughts

Hey whatever works for you I guess. Having checked the Franchesca schematics on here they seem to use a 1M pot for the treble too. I like my tone stack as it is and every thing seems very interactive. Although listening to way too Joe Bonamassa has led me to keep the treble at around 10 o'clock, mid...

Re: Ceriatone Expression (with TGP mods) - Initial Thoughts

Changed my pre amp valves earlier ..so I'm now running: V1 - Mullard 1960's 12AU7 V2 - Phillips new 5751 PI - EH 12AT7 E34L's biased at 40ma Findings so far are that the gain on the amp now needs to come up a long way to get any usuable overdrive going ie. around 2 o'clock now as appose to 10 o'cloc...

Re: Liverpool: speaker most similar to a Greenback?

Personal appearance but V30's sound nothing like greenbacks to my ears. They have quite a mid peak and make everything sound way too loud from experience of my last 3 amps (Orange TT, H&K Switchblade and the Ceriatone Expression). Out of what you have the G12H's would be first on my list for a try. ...

Re: Ceriatone Expression (with TGP mods) - Initial Thoughts

The "extra crap" doesn't really stop the amp from being a single channel amp. However it does significantly alter what you can do with that channel. That said for the majority of what I play the best settings are the one's used in the majority of wrecks and I guess that why they are used for the maj...

Re: Ceriatone Expression (with TGP mods) - Initial Thoughts

So what a difference a couple of months makes. I'm now back to not using any of the TGP mods so I'm at 6.6k Primary & Res rather than choke, Full power and the PPMIV turned fully up. I've also binned the Vintage 30's in my 2x12 and replaced them with the G12M Greenbacks from my 4x12 (which as a bonu...

Ceriatone Expression (with TGP mods) - Initial Thoughts

Well my Ceriatone Expression has now arrived an so far it's all good :D Just thought I'd give some quick feedback after all the information I'd gleened from these pages prior to ordering my final spec. In terms of mods I've got both 5.2k and 6.6k primary output, a trim pot to alter the gain characte...

Re: Help!! (Specifying an Express and can't decide on 6v6/EL34)

I think I decided having listened a lot recently to both the wreck mp3's that I found in the file section of this site and some other clips of wreck inspired amps (eg. fuchs train45 at the fuchsaudiotechnology website) that I will plump for the EL34's initially. I guess the great thing about this de...

Help!! (Specifying an Express and can't decide on 6v6/EL34)

Hello all, After listening to a few spectacular demo's on youtube I've got the wreck bug. I've recently had a year of using a H&K Switchblade & I realised that I was still using pretty much one sound, no effects and the guitar controls anyway so I guess an amp geared to do exactly that would be idea...
