Re: weber 10" alnico ?

I have both the signature and classic weber 10's. The signature is my least favorite, the classic is much better. I would consider the Eminance Lil' Buddy or Jensen Falcon Jet (the sleeper of the bunch).

Re: 5F4 (Tweed Super) help

I resolved another is issue, the presence pot was wired incorrectly but correcting it did nothing to decrease the hum or resolve the tone circuit problems. Chop sticking my way around the chassis I did notice that the pin 2 lug of V2 is very microphonic and that changing the tube did nothing to make...

Re: 5F4 (Tweed Super) help

I reviewed other layouts for the 5F4 and they all indicate the same connections for the tone controls (including the Fender layouts and the version on the Weber site).

Re: 5F4 (Tweed Super) help

The amp is wired per the layout shown in the previous post. This is incorrect?

Re: 5F4 (Tweed Super) help

Confirmed 1 meg pots for both. a 220k resistor connects the center lug of the treble pot to the center lug of the bass pot. The center lug of the treble pot connects to a pin 2 of V3 (the (PI), the center lug of the bass pot connects to a 100k resistor per the 5F4 layout and schematic. To clarify, t...

5F4 (Tweed Super) help

I inherited a finished (but buggy) 5F4, I've been going through it, correcting minor issues here and there. It works but is a little noisy, I've just discovered that the tone controls both work as volume controls, that is, they do not effect the treble or bass as you would expect but rather, they wi...

Re: Fender Musicmaster Bass amp buzz - help!

Stevem said it right, change the electro caps and add an artificial center tap to the hearter (6.3v) circuit. There is a great section on how to deal with the heater circuit at valvewizard.com

Re: 5e5-a low plate voltage

It was a bad rectifier tube, replaced with a known good tube, the plate voltages measure 375, which is what I was expecting from the beginning.
I'm sure they will come up a little as they warm up for a few minutes.
Thanks for your input and help.

Re: 5e5-a low plate voltage

What else would u need to know? Except for the adjustable bias circuit, it appears to be stock 5e5-a circuit using the fender spec-ed transformers and choke.

5e5-a low plate voltage

I'm finishing a friend's 5e5-a (tweed pro) build and find the plate voltage is 297v. I was expecting more. He added an adjustable bias but it won't get anywhere near 70mA, which is what I calculated the proper bias should be. I'm adjusting the bias circuit values, what do you make of the plate volta...

Like mark, I get them from CE, but also from Eurotube. Both suppliers have been good about replacing defective tubes.
