Shoo goo will work but it is extremely sticky and it will run. Use a bead of silicone instead. It stays where you put it and can be separated from the cap much easier if future removal is necessary.

If you look at the spec sheet for some encapsulating epoxies you'll see that acetone will indeed disolve it...after 30 days of submersion

I was wonder why we couldn't use lexan or other plastics, perhaps smell when heat hits it? Lexan melts very easily and is prone to static charge. It probably won't melt at normal amp temperatures but ESD could eventually ruin some of the low voltage electrolytics and such. Passive components do suf...
