Re: Joe Bonnamassa on the Peter Lerche Dumble You Tube Clip

Tag I am confused :? Your first post said it sounded thin (which sounded like it could be a phase issue) Your recent post you now say it's bloated.. So I don't know!! I have heard many clips now of 183 and your right!!..What I hear in the OD side is the single note runs are fairly smooth and thick ...

Thanks for posting it.

No problem Tom. I have so many posted. Some which really suck, and some that are pretty good. You just have to sort through them all. I tried to do many different styles and use many different settings.

Re: Joe Bonnamassa on the Peter Lerche Dumble You Tube Clip

No offense Tag, because I know #183 is a very good and capable amp, but you always had a lot of reverb (too much IMHO) on it which takes away from it, plus the recordings were never that great as Scott has mentioned. No offense taken Tom. I put on the verb the way I like it, if you think its to muc...

Re: Joe Bonnamassa on the Peter Lerche Dumble You Tube Clip

but for me, it always thins and compresses the tone. Tag If you run the master on the amp up say around 7 this should drive the buffer/cathode follower into generating some nice fat 2nd order harmonics, thickening the tone along with the compression thang!! This is how it should work..IMO The d-lat...

Re: Joe Bonnamassa on the Peter Lerche Dumble You Tube Clip

That is what a lot of people don't understand, that the Dumbleator is pretty essential to get the tone. It allows you to put the gain and master controls where they need to be. Hey Structo, hope all is well! Its all subjective of course, but 183 and other Dumbles I have played do not need a Dumblea...

Yes, and rumor has it that it was sold for less than what Carlos offered! (Still a VERY large amount of $$$.) Although from a reliable source, this is strictly rumor, and did not come from Gene, so who knows?

DEMETER/DUMBLE?

Anyone know how similar they sound in person? I have never played any Demeter amp. Landreth sounds KILLER here, and it has a very similar tone to his Dumble. Actually, almost what I would call an exaggerated Dumble tone. Not sure I dont like it even more than his Dumble tones. Similar to some of Bon...

Re: Dumble 183 and Quinn TKT

Max/Tag I really don't want to get in a pissing match but listen to both clips again...I really do not have as much gain as Tag does in his clip, as you can hear the heavier compression/saturation going on.. My drive control was set at 3 and master 2 1/2 ..My observation..BTW the sustain/feedback i...

Mr Dumble, in this "102 Feedback City" thread http://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17438&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 Tony posted some clips of the kind of feedback that he achieves with his newest amp. And Tony asked in this thread, if other or even all Dumble ODS amps are able to provid...

Re: Dumble 183 and Quinn TKT

TAG, Does the 6L6 amp have NOS parts? I do not believe so, but Shad could tell you. If I can rememeber correctly, it was an amp Shad was messing around with for himself, and I happened to call him. He start telling me about it, and i kind of talked him into selling it to me on tyhe spot. Thats the ...

What I meant about bias was I thought the tubes were biased at 63ma for each individual tube.
