Re: Single 12” speaker for JM Sig build
I'm a big fan of the Eminence EM12N https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/EM12N8--eminence-legend-em12n-12-inch-200-watt-8-ohm-replacement-speaker (EVM12L characteristics) for all things Dumble/Two-Rock/etc. 200w speaker and 6.6lbs :D They sound fantastic with my SSS #002 clone. Or the ferrite ve...

Re: Joe and Larry Discussing Dumbles
Even those classical players passing on those fabulous stradivarius over the years from one player to another, they don't sound the same. They all have in common to have the privilege to play an extraordinary piece of instrument, that helps them magnify their own and unique voice. Most of the Strad...

Re: Considering building a Small Special for bass
Whether or not 100W is sufficient for bass depends on the speaker system, and the size of venue, and whether or not you're going through the PA.

Re: Getting a smoother OD
No way for me to know how big a role the OT plays in my build since this is my first. If I wanted to swap do you know which model Heyboer I would need? The standard ODS OT is Fender Twin Reverb/Showman, so you want the equivalent to that. The Heyboer site directs retail customers to buy from Mojo, ...

Re: Fender 1961 Concert, 6G3, or Vibrolux - Craigslist Brown Amp Hunting
Congrats on the Concert! That's the one I voted for.
All three are good choices. I tend to think of the Vibrolux-Amp as a "sweet spot", but the Concert-Amp has the harmonic trem, which is cool to have.

Re: ODS Chassis Sources
My issue with the ODS was the head cabs vary wildly as well. A lot of that is down to the chassis - they're not all the same size. I think the American-sourced chassis have the same dimensions as the HAD originals, and that's what Amplified Nation cabinets are made to fit. The Thai chassis are diff...

Re: ODS Chassis Sources
Pompeiisneaks, that's awesome. That may be just what I need. I'm reasonable competent at sourcing my own faceplates, so a custom-sized chassis is perfect. Also, the Ceriatone chassis use separate faceplates, so they would be usable if you source your own. I think the Marsh Amps chassis may have com...

Is it still a cold clipper if it's cap bypassed?Charlie Wilson wrote: ↑Fri Sep 25, 2020 6:54 am Yes, Alzuz1961. That did help. I think I can see brown black orange on the second cathode resistor, 10k just like a JCM800. Cold clipper.

Re: Dumble Modded Bassman Layout/Schematic
Ugh, my head hurts after this. :? I couldn't figure out how the 47pf ceramic fit in and then I realized it might be a snubber. CW Doesn't the 47pf go from the first lug on the pot to the lower right lug on the switch? Looks like the heat shrink is where an extension was soldered to the cap lead, th...
