Re: Liverpool: It's alive...HELP!!
OK So the plan this week is: try a 47K in R7. . Hi I put yesterday a 47k + a 100k pot (backside) like Dumble clones it has often. That's a perfect solution. So I can dial in the right amount of grit to the right guitar (HB, SC, P90). A 3 or 4 step rotary switch could be also fit well. But mainly - ...

Re: Liverpool: It's alive...HELP!!
Hans Aiken says: The series feedback resistor, in conjunction with the resistor to ground, determines the amount of voltage being fed back. If you want to feed back more voltage, you make the series resistor smaller, or the shunt resistor larger, or you use a higher impedance tap on the output tran...

Re: Liverpool: It's alive...HELP!!
[quote="JoeCon"]Hans OK so a 100K resistor from the OT 8 ohm tap with a 47k to ground. And this connects to the point where the tail and cap are going to ground now, yes?? quote] Sorry, but no. Only a 100k or a 47k between 8 ohm. and tail R. Simple a NFB without presence circuit. Btw. I have a cut c...

Re: Liverpool: It's alive...HELP!!
Hi, I built a Liverpool 2 holer these days too - also without Presence (because of the post PI MV (LarMar), but WITH NFB. This NFB is necessary with LP! It starts with Vol 3-4 to saturate. At noon I´m on max, over this point it´s almost useless. But its clean until 4 (with single coils) :) And that'...

Re: Liverpool MV question
Hi, correct, direct to ground buss if you have all grounding on one buss. If not, and you have your first cap separate grounded, than try there or to grounding point of bias resistor. Where is the lowest noise - there are you at home. I have diff. groundings for preamp and power amp. So my best plac...

Re: 820R From pin 2 V1 to Volume center Lug
Hi,
as I understood, the coupling cap(s) .002µF + ceramic .002µF plays with the bass, (better with the mids).
The 820 ohm is for the behaviour of V2 (on the edge or not).

Re: Express Combo Build
Hi gents, my 18W LP was at the beginning very hissy. Then I eleminated all C and CC resistors, changed the caps to OD 225p (polyester) and put in for V1 a selected 12AX7 and propper layout. Result: 2/3 of the hiss is gone. Volume pot between 9:00 and 12:00 o`clock and the LP (Les Paul) sings. Best H...

Hi
and sorry if its a dump question, but isn`t 1M too large for a bleeder. Mostly used is there a 220k to max 470k.
Or isn´t the soup so hot?

Re: EL84 screen R´s - 1k or 100R?
I think the 1K's were a little thinner sounding and a bit "clearer" sounding than the 100 ohm's. If you were to use the amp on the verge of break up the 1K resistor might be better. To my ear the 100 ohm resistors sounded more natural with both guitars. Thank you Mark, this was the answere I expect...

Re: EL84 screen R´s - 1k or 100R?
Thank you for discussion, what I have in mind is a LP with 2xEL84 and EZ81 recti. Simple said it`s a 18W Marshall which I rewired to a LP. I want Keep the tube rectification. The PT is a 290-0-290 one. Between PT secondary and tube recti is a fuse (on both sides) 2x20 Ohm Lim R and 2x protection dio...
