Re: Redplate live - great great sounds

Dear All, I was at a Blues festival yesterday in Denmark and head a local blues hero, Mike Andersen, playing his Gibson 335 through a Redplate BlackVerb 1x12 combo. Very sweet! Mike Andersen used the 'clean' channel all the time - volume around 4, and it sounded very much like (old school) BB King ...

Re: I put 25uF at cathode of V1A and....

Hey there, I totally went for the fendery clean thing and then a dumble drive all in the same amp. It just dosent end up working together............ Treat V1A plate/cathode values like a Fender but leave V1B like a high plate Dumble except for a smaller output coupling cap. You really can have it ...

Ron worked for Fender - he was the hands, eyes and ears that ran the testers. Re: Gibson Factory Raided at Gun point

The majority of the new jobs that are being created by this administration are unionized government jobs I listen to both sides of the political spectrum and have yet to hear anyone point out that when the government hires someone it must take at least 8 non government worker's taxes to cover their...

Re: Bright switch foot switchable or...

I like stack lift (180k) for PAB instead of the separation of Treble and Bass potentiometers. The stack lift method only requires a SPST so on the typical DPDT relay you will have a set of unused contacts. You can use those contacts to interrupt the bright switch. So you can have bright until you st...

Could a person put a trimmer for the master then dial in the sweetness?
Or is that too much current?
Trimmers work just fine... more junk to mess with :)

Re: Internal Dumbleator Question

My Fav values for MV sub are 270k/100k to ground for cleaner amps and 270k/220k when you want a dirtier amp - The concept of return as a master works really well.

Go to the hobby store or on the web and buy aluminum tooling foil (it's like a quadruple thickness aluminum foil). It's around $8 for a 1' X 25' roll. Cut to size and attach with contact cement.

I think Gary/GlasWerks has a connection to get specific spec pots ordered from Alpha, not sure what the quantities are (10000?). Maybe he can chime in....
