that's true,if amp is under 800 USD (just wanted to say I scored a nice nice mint cond bassman blackface head for only 600USD here) it's better to buy it then build it.....maybe one day value will go up...

Zwreck used value will be lower, but not under 2500 I think.....and I would never buy one,cuz Fuchs has a killer killer express type amp for sale, and I would go that way before Zwreck

Awesome score! I just finished setting up one of Frank's old blackface bandmaster heads '66/'67? with a PPIMV, cap job, cleaned the pots, tube sockets, tube - voicing (winged =C=), 12ax7 PI, added a bass improvement mod. Biased the 6L6GC to about 22watts. It sounds AWESOME!

The '65-'68 fender blackface heads are an awesome bang for the buck!

I've never spent over $1500 for an amp but I'm sure i'll work out a trade for studio time with some down the road and end up with a Fuch's and Z wreck for use in the studio ;)

Hey! Fuch's a band I'm working with wants an edorsement! PM me

I like better then the reissue = referring to only cosmetics, and over all vibe of the new trainwrecks. I have yet to hear the TW $5k clone, but it'll take a lot to impress me and get the bad taste out of my mouth.

Thanks for posting that Mark. Man, I thought the Tele sounded really good. The Blue/Gold combination and the amp's voicing just seemed especially suited for the Tele. Great sounding amplifier though, whatever the guitar or style.

Thinking about building a Zwreck. The OT looks like it could be similiar in some respects to a Dynaco A-470-S but Ken F. apparently designed a new OT for the Zwreck.

Like horse shoes and hand grenade tossing, close enough. :D I'm ging with the HTS-8093-1 (Dynaco A-470-S clone) 4k3

Rhinson are you out there?

Very interesting, it DOESN'T look like a complete rocket clone although some similarities in the power section.

Do you think the use of MF resistors was for non-USA only or does all Zwrecks use MF resistors? The amp pictured is EU spec I believe.

Interesting use of 8uf caps and grounding of the 1/2 of the triode on V1 to keep noise down.

The OT is unmarked and kind of a mystery as to origin.
