Will a d'lator type effects buffer an work with an express?

As above I want to add very subtle delay to my express.

I've had a basic insert type effects loops added to my clone and as expected it overloads my pedals.

Will an external effects buffer allow me to drop the pre amp signal to instrument level and then ramp it back up into the power amp?

Hey Dave,

Yes, that will work. I use a Kleinulator (SS version of the Dlator) and it works great on any of my amps that have the passive loop to make the amp play nice with any impedence mis-matched pedal.

Thanks Geezer,

I've just got the same model from Nik but I'm struggling a little with settings. Good to know that it will work as anticpated with percerverence though.

Could you supply some example settings please?

Hi Dave did you download the instructions for the Kleinulator?

They go through the controls and how to set them.

Don't let that smoke out!

Using the Kleinulator in the passive loop on my TweedOverdriveSpecial, I set the "send" fairly high (around 2-3 o'clock, seems to give better dynamics), and I set the "recovery" even higher (again better dynamics when set all the way up), but......

The key seems to be the "return" control......if I set it much more than 9 o'clock it overdrives & adversely affects the cleans. If you are just doing OD, then you can use it for a cool effect, or if you want a more bluesy clean section, likewise, but if you want true cleans from the clean section, I find that keeping the return control low is the secret. Try the settings I suggested for the send & recovery, then turn up the return until it starts to noticebly overdrive, then just back it off a bit 'til it cleans up.

YMMV....just play with it a bit.

BTW, I'm using a multi-effects unit intended for use in front of the amp (just for a little delay and verb)....it would overload/clip in the loop before I started using the Kleinulator. It now works perfectly in the loop.
