You've got some of the best Wreck experts in the world that would help you through this effort... but not to minimize what is required to build a great amp. Most folks will tell you, build yourself a "Champ" and then move up from there.

I looked around on your website, and have a question, how close is your "Roadster" to a Rocket? And will it be able to produce the tones that I described in my original post?

Daab

Post by LabelBob »

I have a Daab Tupelo Honey..the one he built for Brian Vance.... I can blend the channels (AC30 on roids is one, the other 5F6A done with EL84's)

The only drawback is the onboard attenuator, I may remove it, I don't like having all that extra in the signal path, shortest path possible is the best to my ears.

My Faustine Phantom DX2 should arrive by end of July.

Not to toot my own horn, but here is my version of a Rocket as a Reverb Combo:

Just more examples of what the Rocket circuit can do with some mods. I know a couple of builders in the KC area, but I am not sure that they would be able to match your budget. The Ceriatone stuff is pretty good, however ordering a RockIt built and then having Reverb added would be a real PITA. Best to start with reverb in mind.

No apologies needed! Awesome sounding clips and a great demo of Rocket tone! Great player that really brings out the sweetness of those amps.

Thanks Darin. That's my name too!

Yeah, Stephan is a talented player for sure. I originally sent this amp to Scott Lerner right after the amp show, however we all know he had his scare with myocarditis. I am sure Scott will do some killer demos as well.
