Hey Mark,

It looks like you've wired your Cathode bypass cap on V1 backwards?

You know what both bypass caps are wired backwards good eye, I wonder how good the amp will respond now!

I wonder if I was drinking way too much coffee when I did that and how come no one told me ealier, you guys, I can't trust you to keep me squared away!

Changed the caps to correct orientation and of course more gain with the bypass caps correct.

Yup, I only have to do the front valance cut and stain blue to match the cab.

I put in a pair of Carvin Vintage 30 I had sitting around collecting dust into the cabinet. It is a closed back cab and I am wondering if I shouldn't open it up.

Mike I am retiring from my job after 33 years in January so moving to Cleveland could be a possibility.

Besides I would consider working for you as a great learning experience in many ways. :)

Mikey,

Thanks brother I hope you can get a job with Martin Guitar that would be awesome! I hope you are feeling better these days and getting around easier. Let it heal but keep as active as you can, a little PT can go a long way for speedier recovery.

Amps are my passion that is for sure, but there is so much to learn to become a better tech.

We are blessed with some really good techs on TAG, I am learning everyday from these valuable people.

If any of you guys get a job at Martin, make sure to hook it up on a 0-28VS parlor. They're about $4k retail so I settled on a Blueridge BR-361 parlor. But damn those Martin parlors are titties..

Mark, what's your input jack grounded to in that first pic? Does it go to the 8uF cap then grn lead to the bolt on chassis?

Also, why ground the unused plate pin6 on V1b?

...and no I'm not done with my 4g express/marshall yet.

Pretty sure the input jack is just grounded to the chassis it is metal in front not plastic.

The unused triode of V1 is ground to keep any unwanted noise out.

Bill,

Thanks this is a good sounding amp. I need to make the front valence for my amp so I can take it out on gigs. The cab is Navy tolex so I want to apply a blue stain over some figured maple.
