At 1/8 in. thick, there is no way to buckle that chassis. I have one here and I stood on it jumping up and down to show someone who was over back then. I still have one if anyone would like to see the pics of a blank chassis.RockinRocket wrote:Inger most certainly looks like my bud chassis. Anyone else notice how ingers chassis looks a bit beat up?

I had one of those chassis. You will not want to use a Greenlee punch. Have it laser cut instead, much cleaner.

Probably was a Connie prototype chassis based on Hogy?
the "parts he had lying around the basement" were in the shape of two Constellations (a prototype and a finished product) we gave to Ken.
Re: Songwriter Group Build -- Not Gonna Happen
Hogy sent me this link. In order to be fair to all party's I'm posting it up, so people are able to assess for themselves. I also propose this is to be settled offline as it original should have, in a polite way of course.

I won't be about for the next week, good luck going forward.

Re: Songwriter Group Build -- Not Gonna Happen
You guys should keep going with this... I want to see how to turn a dirt-simple circuit and $400 worth of parts into a $4,000 amp!
Re: Songwriter Group Build -- Not Gonna Happen
Mark, that was a Komet 60 Proto. It has been bought and sold a dozen times if I remember right. At one time, that amp was sold on ebay with the claim it was once joe perry's personal amp.
The amp I'm talking about is a Concorde Prototype. It is made with perfboard. I have the pics somewhere from the person who bought it overseas when they sent them to me. I'll find them.
Hogy is working overtime to wiggle out of this one...He will only sink himself.

Allyn, he already has. Eventually, all bullies kick themselves in the balls.Allynmey wrote:Mark, that was a Komet 60 Proto. It has been bought and sold a dozen times if I remember right. At one time, that amp was sold on ebay with the claim it was once joe perry's personal amp.

Is that so?RockinRocket wrote:Inger most certainly looks like my bud chassis. Anyone else notice how ingers chassis looks a bit beat up?
Here's the very first Constellation prototype, and that's what a Bud chassis looks like.

Inger looks "beat up" because I brush most of my prototype chassis with a 3" brass wire brush to remove scratches from laying out parts and drawing on the box. Like the K60 prototype on ebay.
Like I said, a sad bunch. Y'all have a good time now, the stage is yours.

Not the same amp.
My reference to prototypes was the KF-50 prototype that ended up overseas 8 or so years ago.

No shit, Sherlock!
I always build two of each prototype. One is the reference amp, the other one serves for swapping parts and transformers.
In this case, both didn't work out because of stability issues. Hence they were decommissioned. One went to Ken and became Inger, the other one ended up on the shelf.
As for your babbling about overseas prototypes, you lost me. Seems like you are the resident Komet historian. I have no clue what you are talking about.
Now, seriously, I have other things to do. You guys should let go of this anger. It isn't healthy.

I think gut shots of Bree is enough to clear all this up.
