Re: Attenuator #733 -The Broker-
To make the holes, i used a plate off a old computer as a template.
and the heatsink is from the motherboard.

Personally, I'm not going to check your work. Ohm it out and figure it out for yourself. If you have problems ask. What do you want? It's an attenuator. Attaboy

It looks like your heat sink under the rheostat comes pretty close to your lugs. I don't understand why you'd add the heat sink like that. Are you confident that it acts as a heat sink in this configuration?allclear7 wrote:Dose anyone see anything wrong before i plug it in ?
Sometimes simplest is best.

Depending on the intended use, the build looks proper but I am wondering about how the two large resistors are being anchored? The end-clip mounting bracket holes are pointed up in the pictures. If that is the way you intended to leave it I would very strongly suggest rotating them 90 degrees, and bolting them to the side of the enclosure so they can't flop around and possibly arc in there. Good up-cycle of the old PC panel too.
I don't use mine for extreme low levels so I didn't include the bedroom rheostat at all, but for club use it's been indispensible.

Be sure your tinfoil hat has a good low impedance ground.

Thanks for the feedback, yes the adjustable resistor clip screw was too close to the heat sink, gounded them down. the resistors holders screw to the bottom plate. works great. I was wondering if the heatsink would do it's job too, so far so good --- Back to the Blues Stage I go ,with my Express and Broker--- ![Cool 8)](./images/smilies/icon_cool.gif)
