Trainwreck Names

Post by Brad737 »

Hello guys,
I looked through the TW Files section, and didn't see this, so here we go...

Is there a comprehensive list of names of Ken's amps? I know some of the well-known ones, Hattie Mae, Franchesca, etc. But does anyone have a complete list?

Thanks,
Brad

Good question. I haven't seen one.

There is a zip file with shots of about 20 wrecks in the files section:

http://ampgarage.com/forum/files/trainwreck_pics.zip

Each pic is named with what I assume is the wrecks name.

There are a few in that zip file that are not individual amps/names of the amps :(

You can add "Marcy", a Rocket named after my wife and "Lindsay", an Express named after my daughter.

Hey Jessie,

Do you still have them? Any photos? :-)

Also, I have a quick question. I've read that the Express was Ken's take on the high-gain Marshall, and the Rocket was his version of a souped-up AC-30. Would you say that's a fair statement?

Thanks,
Brad

Sorry to resurrect this (long dead) thread, but does anyone know whether this list was completed?

I've started work on a "Global Trainwreck Register" so that we can get a definitive list of all Ken's amps, oddities or standards in the circuits, gutshots, audio, etc.

You can see the proposed framework at: http://www.bonsonamps.co.uk/gtr

Brad737 has done some sterling work in compiling the list of 57, but I really think that there should be some sort of comprehensive online "museum" or catalogue for these amps.

Thx,

Biffy
