That great "woody" tone ...

Post by gcenker »

Just finished up a build for a client. Although I don't have any pictures here today, I just thought I'd share a brief sound check clip I made prior to delivery. The controls were set as follows:

Volume = FULL
Treble = 12
Mid = 12
Bass = 10

Presence = 10
Bright = UP

Guitar was a LP, 20ft. cable and a Sennheiser e906 mic. This amp is extremely "woody" - I'm quite pleased!

p.s. thanks again Omar.

I have no idea what I'm doing (I usually just skip any clip that doesn't just open and play automatically) but I can't get that clip to work. Tried saving it with .mp3 and still no dice.

Right click on the attachment, select Save Target As ...then the file should download. On my machine it saved it as woody_solo769.txt - then just change the extension to MP3. I would have posted a wav but I don't have a converter and this site won't allow posting of a MP3

Thanks but that didn't work. It tries to save it as 'download/file.php' and I've tried changing the name.

Sorry. I tried converting it to a WAV and uploading it but that file extension isn't allowed either.

Suggestions anyone?

I just tried it again by right clicking on the attachment and doing a "Save Target As" then it wants to create a file called "woody_solo_769.txt" , at which point I changed the extension to MP3 then it worked ...
:?: :?: :?:

Worked for me. Sounds great. What kind of speakers did you use?

:lol: :lol: :lol: I really appreciate it! As far as the volume goes, it was full "ON" As a matter of fact I was using an Air Brake (Dr. Z) set to one click past bedroom!

Although I live in a rather large house I was worried more about pissing off my wife opposed to the neighbors - hence the attenuator.

Not sure why mp3's and wav's were blocked. Should be fixed.

Thanks for the compliment Tim. I've been chasing that type of tone for years - and spent WAY too much $$$ on experimentation. The TW is the simple(DRAWING ONLY - the mojo is in the details!!! :lol: ) and elegant solution...

Yes, it is best to make sure one keeps ones wife happy when venturing into the realm of power tube overdrive!
