Support for Concorde Project

Post by wizardof_oz »

I did some intensive research on the Concorde and found highly valuable information like the Asteroid schems and layout plus the adaptions required for the Concorde.

However, I struggle in ordering the correct Heyboer tranny set with the 4,8k OT here in Europe. Mojotone (no customer orders at this time) and probably Heyboer (no response to my request yet) lead nowhere, so I guess I need to order the set from Inmadout or Modulus, which is ok in terms of quality (I was very happy with Michael’s trannies from Modulus for my DR504 and Express builds).
Any additional thoughts?

As for the Chassis I see the following options:
1) Custom Order in Europe
Can someone here please provide me correct info about the Astroid chassis component positions, -spacings and according openings? A PM or email with a pdf or CAD file (dwg, dxf) would be awesome.
2) Someone wants to sell a left over Astroid chassis from RJ or Allynmey and ship it? If so, please send me a PM or email.
3) A Marshall 50W small Box type blank chassis would be ok for the widths, but lacks some depth. That is still good quality & easy to order…
Any better or other ideas?

I will send you a data packet that will help you out. Have Michael make chassis and transformers.

I ordered my transformers from Heyboer, phone call but I'm USA.

Guess since the tax wars some companies aren't willing to deal with european customers anymore.
For the Chassis I would simply take a pre drilled JTM45 housing - it's close enough to the Komet - that's at least what I did.

InMadOut does custom orders as well. You might find some other guys for a small group order.
I would be interested as well.PM me if you want to get in touch.

As for the chassis I decided to create a 3D drawing (Fusion 360) with all original dimensions from the K60 drawings (converted to mm) and to custom order a chassis. All holes and openings are defined as parameters, and can easily be adapted eg. for different trannies or different component diameters.
The original material was 0,125" AW-6061 T6, this cannot be bended easily and must be welded. So I decided to use easy to find 3mm AW-5754 for the design, can be bended and lasercut easily and riveted for stability. The tranny spacing was adjusted to the dimensions Savino from InMadOut gave me for my order.
The design and dims you can see in the screenshots.

I'm about to order a chassis for me in a couple of weeks.
If anyone in Europe is interested, I can easily add higher quantity to my order. Price excl. shipping ranges between 80€ (order 2 pcs.) and 33€ (order 10 pcs.) a piece.
Even if you're just interested in the STEP file, just send me a PM. Happy to share and to get some review feedback!
