Probably not the right choice for my first build but I want this amp bad.
I have been inside my amps before, I'm not a complete novice, so don't worry I will not kill myself doing this. Just want to say this.
... and also, I have a really good amp tech standing by... just in case
I bought a Ceriatone kit and trannies came from my amp tech. He has a company making trannies for his HiFi amps and they make trannies for guitar amps as well.
I already installed tube sockets, wire the heaters and install the pots and solder the brass rod.
This is probably not going to be the prettiest wiring around but hopefully it will sound good.

What trannies does your friend build or sell?
Well, he does not build the trannies him self. There is a company which is building trannies for him by his specs. These trannies are not bad at all... after all he uses them in his HiFi amps ... like this one

As far as I know, Nik gave him the specs for these trannies, so I asumme they are preatty much the same as Ceriatone ones.
To me, they sound very good, so I'm happy.
Those 300B tubes have intrigued me since I first saw an amp in this guy's trunk of his classic hot rod at a car show and the tubes were lite up and music pumping, nice!
My Ipod and Zen have since replaced my stereo; however. The records are sitting waiting for me to convert them all to CDs on my USB port turn table and Audicity? soft ware. Good thing winters are long in Minnesota and I don't have a gig I can build amps and record my favorite vinyl to CD.
Man I'm having fun here...
Did some more work, installed the trannys, and wire those up along with the power cable and I also wired power tube sockets (almost)

I made some mistakes being in a rush. Make sure the wire on the bottom of both boards are done. I didn't do my faceplate right away and wished I had so consider that as well. Take your time and think it through. Revisit the Layout files for the Express as the wiring on the bright switch has changed.

Looks good to me.

Damn I didn't see your post until now.
I managed to wire the main board tonight. Must find some shielded cable to wire the input jack.
Can you point me to the latest bright switch wiring, I'm afraid I did it the old way.
