Maybe Moose can arrange to have them make just one type with a split primary to run 120 or 240VAC with his next order. Every can be happy, well almost.

Transformers
Although we choose to not be "in the parts business", we would gladly sell output and power transformers for Amp Garage Wreck builders if anyone is interested.
$ 100.00 power (dual primary) and $ 100.00 for 2 X EL-34 outputs. Heyboer built, heavy duty mounting hardware, Fuchs part numbers, usually in stock. Freight additional. E-mail me if interested.

Isn't that a little steep?

Think of it as an option, you have choices and Andy's added to them.Isn't that a little steep?

Re: Transformers - What & Where?
Aren't they the same that Heyboeurs that Moose has?
Re: Transformers
I personally think it's great to have another resource! I use Mooses trannys for all my TW builds and love them but, I think it's great that Andy would make the offer.FUCHSAUDIO wrote:Although we choose to not be "in the parts business", we would gladly sell output and power transformers for Amp Garage Wreck builders if anyone is interested.

any specs on the transformers?
Re: Transformers - What & Where?
hello there, i've posted this a few times but i'll do it again----the pacific transfomers that two-rock had "copied" (they didn't have to clone them because they were the actual trannies ken used in later wrecks made by pacific) are available for anyone to order from pacific----i posted the color data sheets with part numbers for these here on this forum many months ago---do a search. they are a little more expensive than moose's trannies (which are trannies calaham had made by heyboer for their wreck clones---moose just simply took up stocking them after calaham stopped making their clone) but not much and by the accounts of some forum members are closer to the general wreck type output, being made of m19/26ga lams with moose's trannie made from m27/24ga lams. pacific will sell them to anyone---just call and ask for amy to order them--i've used them in several clones and they sound great. moose's trannies are the best price you'll get because he's making nothing(practically) on them---he just buys in bulk and passes the savings on to forum members. i personally like moose's power trannie and the pacific output as a combo---moose's power trannie will give a slightly higher plate voltage than the pacific power trannie-----in the 390-400 range which is where francesca's plate's were. all this info has been on this site now for several months. rh

I doubt they are exactly the same. However, they are likely to be appropriate and very high quality, as Andy's reputation will attest. The price is probably about right, too. I don't make a lot off my sales and even had to boost prices a few dollars because steel and shipping costs have gone up so quickly. I had a price increase both on my PTs and in the cost to get the trannies delivered this year.
I took off where Doug Holt left over, except I had them add both the 5200 and 6600 taps on the OT because trainwrecks have been done with each value and that solved the "what impedance to get?" questions. The ones I stock, with the exception of the dual primary, are ostensibly what Heyboer wound for trainwrecks back in the day.
And, if anyone asks for 220/230V power trannies, there's a reason I don't deal with them. It costs a couple of grand per reload to get trannies at a lower price, and I'd sell very few of them overseas, so it would take me a year or two to make the money back. Also, adding a tap would increase the cost $5-10 per tranny. When folks in the EU see that the price pretty much doubles when adding shipping and taxes, it mitigates most of the demand. That means we'd all pay $10 more per set, but only rarely would one of our overseas brothers benefit from it.
Heyboer will wind you a 220V version if you ask.
