Liverpool Started,Guestion

Post by ampmike »

Hey Guys,Just started my Liverpool build. If you look at the main TAG
layout the heater from V4 pin 4 goes to V3 pin 9 correct? It almost looked like the black wire hits Pin 8 on V3.Dont want to mess up at this early stage.rj sent me some really nice parts. This amp will be my 3rd TW style.Express and rocket are really nice sounding,My name is Michael and I am a Ampaholic.

I put the VVR in my Liverpool and I really like it but I am not trying to get cleans out of mine. You may have a little more felxibility with a master volume if you tweak it right. Otherwise, you will have gain and then more gain.

VVR is pretty easy in a LP because it is cathode biased, so you just drop B+ and everything balances out.

Never built a LP. Built the x10 clone which has a "similar" circuit but not the same. The mv there works great. Starting to think a vvr might not be necessary and might pull it out and just use the mv. Take a look at that schemo that colossal pdf'd.

Liverpool needs some advice in getting it more stable

Post by ampmike »

Well I finely got this amp in a cab,Now its fun time!!!I did have a couple issues but mostly tubes and a bad solder or two.I did have a nice matching faceplate in red but it managed to blow up in drilling the final hole.So the old plexie glass and drumskin pulled me through.Anyway I wanted to follow through with the post and show off the end result. This was a leftover cab I made a long time ago so I put her to good use.Does anybody know if the trainwreck knobs come in red.I know the bigger ones do but I really like the smaller ones rj sent me.Thank you rj for putting the materials together and sending such a nice package to work with,Mikey
