Re: Express build started.
I missed something!
Where did the boards come from? I need several that are drilled like that so I don't have to waste time on that action!
Nice too.

Nice too.
Signatures have a 255 character limit that I could abuse, but I am not Cecil B. DeMille.
Re: Express build started.
The small green drilled tone board are available from CE Distributions AKA tubesandmore AKA AES.
The larger cap board I'm not sure?

I made them both in my shop.

Re: TW
I have some vintage el 34's for this one. When I build one for me I may try 6v6's. I did a Bassman with 6v6's that sounds good.ampmike wrote:Looks a nice!!!!!!I like the green boards too.Very neat and tidy,Express are cool,They always have a squeeling start but once you tweek them a bit they are great.I went with 6v6"s in mine just got some new ones. What do you think you will use in yours?Mikey

Circuit is wired, have to double check everything and maybe tomorrow I can power her up. Maple cabinet may end up with this amp. Not sure yet.

Beautiful Jeff. It deserves that maple cab.

Re: Express build started.
I guess it will stay in the maple cabinet.
Faceplate is done, I call this one "The Austin Express" a new series of
"Token" amps. Each having a Vintage Train Fare Token inlaid in the faceplate.

I like the token in the faceplate.
I have been thinking of using a Marine Corps coin in a build and use the green camouflage garolite board too.

The Austin Express is Running.
No real major problems so far, need to tweak bias and swap tubes around. Fairly quiet under florescent lights even with bottom cover off. Well of course except for the loud roar when I hit an open E chord with the volume about 3/4 to full up.
