Reworked the Express layout and...

Post by dynaman »

came up with this. Used the A1a schem and made it to fit in a Marshall cab. Sounds kick ass and is more quiet than a couple previous builds I made. Very sensitive to crappy preamp tubes!

That's an interesting layout. Nice clean build too!

I have done something in that direction with my amp but I kept the filter caps grouped: http://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.ph ... highlight=

I had first planned to distribute the filtering but my board became too long. Using smaller caps and a cap can seems to be the solution.

I see that you went with separate bias pot adjust; cool! 8)

Ah, very nice! I noticed you didn't bother with twisting the filament wires either. I haven't heard a noise increase so I'll be doing this in the future.

Looks Sweet

Dynaman What Electo caps did you use and values. (For power/plates pre)

Nice and tidy (wouldn't mind trying to duplicate your build) if you don't mind.

have you a layout that you could share ?

Is that A 50watt marshall style chassie ?

I'm new to this but like the looks of your build so neat.

Top drawer execution Dynaman! I get the feeling you thought about every nuance to your brilliant layout. Perhaps more than twice.
You maybe moonlight at NASA's thermionic division? :wink:
Please tell us whose resistors you chose. {I'd try those in my Komet's power supply} Are they flame-proof metal oxide or something more esoteric? That 9K1 halfway down the epoxy board, appears to have vents on the end. :shock: How does she sound?

Now I'm thinking I goof off a little too much. {I need to focus on getting some building chops like yours}

Dynaman, this creation of yours is so muff huckin' punishing that I have to go to bed without supper!
