currently dont have this 39K resistor,only 33,47 and 56K...what value would you suggest?also planning to use 12AT7 on the PI position...

From what I read in Merlin's Preamp book was "a larger value improves the balance but lowers the output signal swing." Now EL84s don't need as much swing so a larger value would be what I'd try...yes???
