Francesca Heater Supply resistors

Post by drhulsey »

Regarding the 2 resistors (100R, I believe) at the termination of the heater supply in the Francesca pics: Are these present to create a virtual center tap in the absence of a real center tap on the PT heater supply :?: Could they be placed anywhere along the heater circuit :?:

Thanks :!:

Yes
They also act as fuses
You should place them where you want the heater ground to be, sometimes that makes more sense near the front by the ON Lamp if it is heater powered

Thanks for the information. These resistors weren't on any schematic obviously. Virtual center tap was the only explanation I could think of.

When using toneslut transformers, is a Virtual Centre Tap still prefered to connecting the brown/white wire to ground?

No, Ground the CT and forget about the resistors.
