No idea what it is, it sounds half decent though. Just curious what it's original intended purpose would have been.

If you can get the speaker out of the cabinet, usually the speaker code is on the basket rim:

If 041-017 is the EIA code, 041 is Merrimack Magnetics of Lowell, MA, and 017 is date of manufacture, first week of 19?7.
