Nice! I love it when folks build modern versions of classic gear like the Leslie. I - being the snob I am - would have used a 12" speaker and a 40 watt or more amp even knowing the cab would be bigger.

Just finished watching a minute ago and thought to come here to post it. Not surprised someone else got here before me. It's a very interesting video and I thought the last segment where several guitar players try it is a lot of fun. My general impression is that, while it might benefit from a few tweaks, the builder got the basics right. The video is 17:34 long. IMO, you can skip some of the cab build and finishing, as he's not particularly adept at this, though he does make some funny comments. Overall, I thought the builder is a clever guy with a good idea that he should try to bring to market.

FWIW, I also wondered about his idea to pair an 8" speaker with a 10W amp. He says it's for living room use or mic'd to a PA. A 12" with 40W would bring it to another level, but also add to size and weight. I think he meant to shrink it as much as he could.

Hello —
Popped up, so watched yesterday. Agree 8” misses the mark but the right 10” with a Princeton sized amp would Bevmore than sufficient. His overall problem solving and particularly the facility with 3d printing is impressive. On the cabinet crafting, suggest true skills are well above those results, but he didn’t bother striving for fine furniture.
Best ..

I think Gilmour used the Yamaha RA200 rotary speaker, which was really its own animal altogether. I've only ever seen a RA200 once in person, and apparently, there were other models, intended for guitar and not organs, based on the same principle of operation.

My favorite Leslie sound has to be from Frampton Comes Alive. He would just daisy chain another Marshall 100W (linking inputs) and that would run the Leslie, which he said was quite loud. EDIT: I added a link at the bottom for a timestamped video. The FullYouTube button doesn't seem to support that.
