5E3 and 5F6A PCB gerber files

Post by Lauri »

For my COVID isolation projects I built a tweed deluxe and a bassman combo. Here are the gerber files for the PCB's incase anyone is interested.

That does look really nice! Thanks for sharing! 1 question: does the ground plane under/close to high impedance paths/components have a impact on the tone?

12AX7 tubes have such a high miller capacitance and guitar amps in general have a very limited frequency response. I doubt the small capacitances and inductances between traces, ground planes and components on the PCB will make any difference.

Lovely.

When you have these files I presume you send it to somewhere that can make the boards. Will places make just one board or do yo have to get say 10 made, and are they expensive?

p.s Lauri, just been watching the new series of bordertown on Netflix :D kippis :D

I usually use https://jlcpcb.com/ to order PCB boards. Minimum quantity is 5. When I ordered PCB's for both of the amps the total cost was about 45€ including shipping and taxes.

Thanks for posting that Lauri. I took your schematic file and modified it for a Tweedle Dee Deluxe. Now I'm looking at assigning footprints for components and it looks like all of your components come from some Uraltone library - is this your company? Are none of these components similar to standard library components?

Uraltone is a company I've done some PCB design work for. You can find all the libraries and footprints used on that PCB in the libs_and_footprints folder. They're very similar to components found in the standard library. Pretty much the only difference in the footprints I've made is that pads and holes are much larger so it's easier to desolder components and do mods.
