NTE452 I bought many moons ago. I just checked Mouser and they want $10 for it now!
Hi Normster,
NTE uses its own part numbers (which I never liked) for standard production prouducts.
NTE purchases surplus parts cheap from any old source (Malaysian, Thai, Idonesian, East European, Japanese, etc,; and China for Germanium transistors the last time I checked) and sells for top dollar in some cases. The
NTE452 can be of different parentage from another
NTE452 when previous stock's mfg runs out.
You might try the TO-92 version of the 2N4416 or its equivalent:
"the plastic TO-92 equivalents
include 2N5484, 2N5595, 2N5586, 2N5555, PN4416, MPF102,
J304, J305"

MPF102 Sells for 63 cents.
