Andy I apologize for tossing you into the argument in an out of context way.

The long and short is you have used names, brandon has used names...
The hypocrisy is when brandon complained this guy was using larry's name.
brandon did that looooong before he hooked up with KB and LC.

He could just as easily have said it about Fuchs amp...

And so that is all really. I find it weird to do one thing, then a year later giving some guy crap for the very same offense..
I found you've essentially contributed little to nothing here, despite claiming how much you know whenever you get the chance, here and on other forums.
Andy please post links to those threads so people can read what your reading....where am I running about telling how much I know?...also please show all the non contributing posts by me.

As for contributing...No I do not sit here all day and post every free thought I have. Do you? What about joe builder who never posts a damn thing....why does he get the free lunch but I gotta pay double?

Also I have contributed some. I gave this place a chassis drawing. Now if the people here were a little more on the ball that could have done a few things. First they could have used that instead of brandon's chassis (the dxf was originally posted over a year ago). Then Brandon really could have thanked me for it instead of blasting me over it...

Second if anyone here was smart enough to put the 2 together....oh I dunno can anyone say GROUP BUY!?

Also one other quick one...once some guy asked "Hey could we do a hrm/non hrm thing" to which some regulars said....."NO never, bad idea go away and it can't even be done"....then a year or so later again some guys asks again. I post a bit of it....he ignores it....he asks again months later.....so i draw the thing out for him, make all kind s of suggestions about what would be needed to take it further.....
Then out of the blue I get to hear from Scott about how he and Gary already did that and so more or less "pull that feather from your hat...we did that first, it took us a year...."and so forth.

Not saying they did not do that...I am sure they did....but it surely was discouraged on this forum and it was not until I posted the schematic was there any mention of that...

Also I did not see that anything was added to it....just told it had been done...no hint as to how it could be improved or anything....just simply "we did that first"

I just find that a little poopy. I contribute anything and pretty much I am being a dick somehow...

Notice some things too that I did not contribute....I could have contributed a chassis for sale at half of what others were asking...did I?
No....why? Because I really was trying to respect some members here who were actively selling them...Hindsight being what it is I ought to have busted out of the gate with them and started all kinds of trouble
Lord knows if you came here with a chassis for sale it was going to end in a blow up...

So why would I spend a lot of time drawing up things that are unique to this place and give it away only to get snubbed for it by guys who did not contribute it to the place?

So before you paint a picture of me make sure it is accurate. I have contributed what I felt was new, needed and unique. I don't see any value in me regurgitating answers already known over and over....

If you want to toss me for having a valid opinion and not contributing enough but your going to let brandon have a pass on calling me crude names outright then I guess that is the way it will be.

What is see is a bunch of guys who want to be allowed to pass judgment on others actions... but never ever wish to have it passed on them....in fact to even dare to do so means a backlash and possible banishment.

So go ahead and ban me...I will still have this place as a resource. You will be able to keep nothing from me.....all you will do is prevent the forum from ever being able to benefit from another source of info....no matter how small and infrequent it is....things can and do change.
What you'll gain is what?...one less post per month from me that makes some people uncomfortable?

No names or nasty here so I hope any discussion remains as such.

If you guys want to have intelligent discussions I am happy to as well.
When I see you guys preaching and passing judgment and telling others how to do things. Well then I get an interest in who is walking the walk and not just talking it.

As for the swimming pool comment I made....Yeah that was totally lame of me....course I was called a douche twice (and worse in the past) and was set up to make the comment......but whatever I feel bad for that.
For the real things I had to say there is no apology because I think I am 100% right. Perhaps this is only opinion but it is mine and I am entitled to it.

The "do as I say, not as I do" thing just rubs me wrong.

well, as others said...i sometimes feel the same way here, if i were excluded. I live in patagonia argentina. There's no way i can get the right parts for a real dumble amp. No fancy caps, or rn65, only two brands of tubes (eh, sovtek, only 12axwa, no other model), etc. I have to work all day long, and have little or no time, so there's no way i can contribute something apart from...hey i build this or that amp, because i really like that tone, and will never have the oportunity to have it here, so i have to build it my own, and try to tweak it to be close to what i have in mind, and the resources i can get. Most of my amps are handmade, with old donor amps as basis, and sometimes i have to even wind my own transformers, and you know there's little information about that...but i try to do my best. There's no way to get an ot in here as an example. People earn u$s 1000 a month, and a fender hot rod deluxe costs u$s1200, a twin reverb u$s 2500. So...am i happy to be here...yes, and really thankful to you guys, who sometimes helped me, and i can learn lots of things just by reading the forum.
Just hope i'm not banned because i'm not a contributor...the closer i've been to a real dumble was in robben's concert, two hours, once in a lifetime, and guess i'll never been able to play a real one.
that said...hope i can be here for a long time, and keep learning things...i'm a contributor in other forums where i can help...for example, i work in a music store...so i RE and corrected the microsynth eh schem that was wrong in the web...also provided several pictures of brand new pedals to see what was going on...etc. But there's no fulltone in here...or zvex...or anything fancy or expensive. Just danelectro...behringer...and that kind of stuff. Same for amps...not even mesa boogies...
well, i just wanna say thank you all, for the information, the help, and even the friendship...because i have been here so long, that some of you feels like friends to me...there's no better feeling than someone telling you...do this and your amp will be alive...and going home and getting that sound....it's wordless. A big hug...and happy new year.

Keltner's is what he is, and it's no surprise to me. Jim, I said "artist".

well said Scott, I am a little bored browsing pages of posts lacking technical content

maybe the forum needs another section for non-technical discussions?

Judging by the post of the last couple of weeks, you are 100% right. Put the drama in a seperate section and lets talk recipes for getting great sounds!!!!

How do we develop our designs into great sound machines. And not just skinny copy's of Dumble amps.

Allow me an example:
In Copenhagen we one restaurant 'NOMA' (http://www.noma.dk/main.php?lang=en), which has received two hournable michelin stars.

As a consequence hereof a lot of restaurants in Scandinavia are trying to make NOMA food. However, even if the other chefs are using the same ingredients, they are not able to integrate these into somthing of the same uniqueness as the chef at NOMA, René.

Similarly I'm no longer looking for schematics. We already have these on this forum #124, #101 non, #101 HRM etc.

I am trying to pick up tips from the best 'chefs'; Brandon, Andy, Heisthl, Bill Kinnard and of course Mr. D himself (if he would join this forum) in order to be able to create great sound machines for my personal Semi pro use. And I wish to help as many people on this forum as possible with my - compared to the gurus - limited experience.

Great chefs are sensitive people, but lets cut down on the drama, please?

I'm afraid the best chefs would rather sell their dishes than give out the recipes. Truly open development can only be done by those who do not sell stuff.

Guess you're right about that.

And its easy for me to say 'lets share recepe's', if that means sharing the pro 'chefs' bread and butter and thereby diminishing their attemt to make an honest buck.

However, still we don't need the drama about it all.

Years ago, Les Paul told Gibson "I will show you how to make a great guitar, just not MY guitar...". He kept his share of secret details close to the vest, as we say, for many years. I enjoy helping people, as I was a hobbiest once, and still enjoy helping people as well as the art and zen of experimenting for fun and profit...lol. Needless to say, I have to limit my range of answers and suggestions to things I can and will freely share.

The touchy point here is someone who goes to work for a big company, or runs their own operation, or simply came here as a foundation for starting their business.

Scottl's tweaks have appeared in many hobbiests amps, as he has been generous to a fault. But: they have also ended up in Ceriatones. Nik actually contacted Brandon a number of years ago asking for ODS chassis dimensions "for his own use". Brandon was generous to a fault, and we all know how that turned out.

IMO, the clearest instigator of drama on the board is the issue of sharing or not sharing information pushing the Dumble designs forward (SSS, multiple preamp topologies etc.) and resources like chassis's. There seems to have been a lot of drama around this issue lately.

I used to have a friend, a cat that I actually liked a lot and enjoyed hanging out with. I would call about once a month, he never really called me, but every time I called he'd start the conversation with "why don't you ever call me?" I'd say, "well I'm calling now" and we'd have a conversation always peppered with "well, if you'd call more often" etc etc. It got to be such a drag that one day I just stopped calling.

The heavy hitters on this forum weren't always heavy hitters and they didn't always have commercial products to sell. No one was born with the ability to solder. Looking back over the history of the forum one even started with Allen kits. But that same history shows them sharing, learning and working to push their knowledge into the expert category. Yes at some point many of them did establish business enterprises and start to consider some of the information they had as propriety. The years of study it takes to master something tends to do that to a guy.

Now I like the majority of the members, come along needing my hand held while I build a d-lite from matching the wires on the schematic and layout documents that have been GIVEN to me for FREE. I think it's pretty rude and disrespectful to bitch at those that have shared so much and continue to support newbies and not-so-newbies to bitch about what they aren't sharing rather than enjoying what they have shared. I don't know of any other place where a novice can be in the same room with masters.

Put yourself in their shoes. Would you want to share if all you heard was "you never share" or "you use to share but now you're famous" I know that I could learn everything that isn't being shared. All I have to is the SAME work that those who have the information have done. Clearly attacking, pestering and harassing people to share isn't working. This behavior is a good way to drive some of the forums biggest contributors right off the page. Keep it up and one day they may just stop logging in.
