Is the secondary/speaker on your OPT well grounded? Do you have shields on any of your tubes? The springs in those things can act like little reverb springs. Try the different power tubes (6v6 and
6l6) and see if that makes any difference. Are all your voltages good?
Chiming, singing, bell-like? Maybe you accidentally built a Vox...(joke).

Hi
have a look at where the wires are sitting for the presence control, i have had problems with these causing hz feedback.
i cold be way off but its worth looking at.

Re: Chiming, singing, bell-like sound problem
I have changed the tubes yesterday but i still hear the chiming sound. it is crazy.
Re: Chiming, singing, bell-like sound problem
Why is the Sprague 4.7uf@63v capacitor backwards? V-2 pin 8.
looks ok on V-1

Re: Chiming, singing, bell-like sound problem
Yeah he was told about that on page 1.megemen wrote:yes thnx, i have corrected that reverse cap thing before. i have replaced it with a new one, and the wiring is ok.
As for the ringing, it is on both clean and the distortion channels. But i guess if i correct the clean channel then the distortion channel will be fine accordingly.

Strange problem.

Re: Chiming, singing, bell-like sound problem
Did you try moving the wires to the presence pot?
you could also try adding a 49pf 500V disc or mica cap between the anodes of the PI thats from pin 1 to pin 6. you can fit this across the anode resistors on the board. This stops PI oscillation which might be what you can hear.

angelodp, yes i have corrected that reverse cap thing as Structo says. I have played like that for about 5-10 hours before I corrected it. I am not sure if that caused the problem. If yes where do you think it might have damaged?

Re: Chiming, singing, bell-like sound problem
The reverse cap would not cause the problem.
Re: Chiming, singing, bell-like sound problem
ok this thread is 3 pages long now. I think we're in need of a sound clip
It's true i've lost my marbles and i cant remember where i put them
Re: Chiming, singing, bell-like sound problem
ok, here is a clip. through the middle of the clip and at the end of a sentence ( somewhere at 50th second) when i strum upwards you can hear it. If this is not enough i can upload some more. i have used a zendrive2 here. i whish I did it with the clean tone with more strumming.
all the best.

IMHO it sounds EXACTLY like you are paying a string harmonic and nothing else.
Do you not think so?

+1 i hear no problem that amp sound great. It sounded like you hit a harmonic or the amp was starting to bloom into feedback (what dumble players love)LPSGME wrote:IMHO it sounds EXACTLY like you are paying a string harmonic and nothing else.
