You can check out http://www.gabkits.com/transformers/cer ... pecial-50w

They sell mercury replacement parts for the ceriatone line (others too). There may be someone else who sells these too.

The Bassman xformer should be perfect. I'm not sure about the mounting holes but electronically it's an excellent choice. Magnetics Components makes really good sounding stuff.

I changed the output to a Magnetics Components 40-18013 (100 watt) from Triode Electronics.
There are heaps of holes around there on the chassis to line it up with. Not sure if I would worry about the choke.
Looks like there are 2 types of 50 watt, 40-18009 and 40-18001 both 4/8/16 ohm not sure what the difference is.

I've put an old Schumacher Twin PT in a Ceriatone OTS chassis with no issues. Not sure why you would have a problem.

Same xformer, different laminations: standard M19 for the 18009, low loss M6 for the 18001.

There are holes in the chassis for a separate 12volt (relay) transformer. But a bit of work to install it.
I have had a Ceriatone power transformer blow. So I'm not a fan of these. But I would not change it unless it is bad.
DC voltage is a DC voltage no tone there. Correct me if I'm wrong but a choke would be the same.
The voltages for the ceriatone power transformer are good, unless it's blown then wait.

Yes the Ceriatone power transformer has a separate winding for the relay power supply.

Since Alexander Dumble usually used Fender Twin iron, those power transformers do not have that separate winding so he had to install a separate filament transformer (6-0-6v) to power the relays.

The OTS amp uses a voltage doubler on the 6v tap and delivers 12v to the voltage regulator (the three legged component 7812).

Don't let that smoke out!

Here is a link to a Mouser part that should work.
