Tom I will check all that out Sunday thanks a lot.

BobW I use house wiring too, just trying to figure out how to get a long straight section, you know looking good. :)

I never did get over to the crafts store for the brass rods.

If you lock one end of the wire in a vise and pull other with pliers until you feel it 'give' a little then the wire will come out perfectly straight and a bit harder then when you started... If you tug too quickly and it snaps it won't work as well.

Did you fix the presence circuit? The layout wiring changes the NFB and presence breakpoint. Can have an effect on the top end. I'd suggest doing it the Dumble way and then seeing if things improve.

Added what is listed as the bass mod on one of Normster's layouts which is tying the entrance of the bass pot to the wiper that helped to get lower frequencies.

Changed the main filter caps to 100uf, they were 47uf before.

Burning the amp in longer has also seemed to help.

I need to try that local feedback loop after I get a Mouser order together, never have all the parts a guy needs. :)

Thanks for all that replied and helped me.

Mark, that is a really nice build. I used one of RJ's aluminum blank chassis too, on my EH-150 build.

Did you cut back the lips on the front & back aprons yourself or did RJ do that? I had to mill down the front apron lip on my drill press, that took a while.

mdroberts, thanx a lot for that tip about electroless tinning. Which store chains in Canada carry it?

I'm pretty sure I got it at Active Tech (http://www.active123.com) but it might've been Reset Electronics (now closed).

David,

Thanks it has been a fun project and getting good advise from the guys.

That is an rj chassis that I cut down the front and back leaving just enough for mounting tabs. Not easy to do, a cutting wheel and Emory cloth after that to smooth things out.

I though that was an rj chassis in your Gibson EH150.

Thanks guys I like that the amp finally has cabinet. :)

The D type amps takes tube changing and OD trimmer adjusting to get the sweet spot you desire. Being a rookie with Dumble type circuits I am still fiddling with the amp  Still great amp but I have questions.

When I get time to forumlate questions, I will be posting some questions about adjusting so that I can get the experts to help out. I'm not going to be working on this amp until February when I have more time. :)

I did start on one of my Dumble projects but once again have to order more parts. This one will be a #183 TKT.

Always have to order more parts for these things...and from at least two places! I wish there was a Dumble part retail outlet around here. Like a Bass Pro Shops of amp parts.
