NON-HRM Skyliner 50w

Post by boldaslove6789 »

Just finished tweaking it and recently sold this amp for a friend but here it is.

It's a high plate NON-HRm skyliner, 50w.

Bassman type IRON 2x6L6's
68pf bright cap on Master
FET Control on Back

6L6's are Ruby's (I dig the consistency they have recently )
NOS RCA short plate 12ax7's in V1 & V2
Raytheon Black plate in the PI

I have a D-lator in the Loop & I used some RG-400 cables that measured out to about 220pF, with a Suhr MiniMix & a TC M300. Used a 2010 Les Paul Standard with Burstbucker's. 1x Celestion G1265

Sorry about the quality (It's really compressed IMO) but here's a Clip:

Greg, Nice work.

I have been contemplating for a while now to do a 50w ODS build and i think your clip has pretty much sold me on that.

I have been pouring over months of postings in this forum about discussions of 50w or 100w, high plate/low plate, OD values etc etc...... and have mapped out a build i think will be best suited to my liking.

Do you mind sharing some details as to what values/components you concluded to be to your liking in this particular build?

Much appreciated,

Rich

Whoever won that auction got a killer deal!

I see head only D-styles sell for that price Without nos tubes and speakers!

Good job man

Greg, you definately have a touch playing these amps, and with a modified strat too!! Sounds great!

Nice!!

Someone likes the recipe!! ;)

Btw, I found on some 50 watters that a little more power amp nfb makes a difference. Maybe try a 4.3K or 3.9K feedback resistor and report back.

Thanks for the kind words. (That was a Les Paul Gold Top Standard Traditional with RS super pot's, PIO caps & BurstBucker's in the clip above BTW.
