A New Dumble Inspired Alessandro Amp

Post by BrotherInArms »

Hey Guys,

This is my first post here and so I figured I'd share. I found on Alessandro Amps Facebook page today that he recently built what he described as

"A Twin Reverb/Dumble inspired head I did for John Mayer with a 2x12 cabinet loaded with my custom Neo 12" speakers."

Nice looking amp indeed

Is the Dumble circuit similar to that of the Twin Reverbs? I am of starting to do some research as I am interested in building a Dumble type of amp (Ideally the SSS) in future.

Very pretty indeed!

There are certainly similar elements in a Twin topology and various Dumbles designs. Have a look at the 'Dumble Files' section of the forum for layouts and schematics and you'll see how they compare and differ from a Twin.

I read somewhere that HAD only changed one cap in a Twin and called it an ODS.

The number of posts and especially the forum name very much make it appear to be the case.

Where do you find those knobs?

I love the look of the silver amps and the silver knobs, don't get me started on the font on the silver amps!
