Two Rock Power Supply Question

Post by mhartman »

I have a question about the Two Rock power supply setup. I was studying a picture of a classic reverb that I saw around here a while back (basically, a 100W clean skyline tonestack with reverb) and I was stumped when I was looking at the power supply. I've attached a picture of it below.

It looks like "A" is the relay supply and "B" is the Bias supply, but I was confused about "C" and "D". Typically, I would only expect one more supply to power the power tubes/OT, reverb driver/transformer and preamp plates, but here there are two. It appears that "C" and "D" feed off of separate taps from the PT. Anyone know what the setup is here?

I'm on my phone surfing, but this thread shows the full classic reverb and JM, both of which have this power board:

Thanks!

Thanks. Maybe high & low power to the power tubes based on high and low voltage taps from the PT?

Hi,the "D" on the picture is a different rectifier from the PT for the reverb..In the custom reverb it is b+>choke>screengrids > PI > OD > IN with a 10K from PI for the reverb driver..In the classic reverb i think the MiX tube replace the OD and the "D" rectifier is for the "Send/Return tube..
