Power transformer is in. Now it is starting to look like an amplifier. All these years, I thought I'd never finish it. Now the end is in sight :o

I just discovered this clear heat shrink tubing. Makes nice covering for all those free-floating components in the preamp.

The blue wire on the far right of the OD relay board goes into the wrong hole in the picture. I found that error when putting the main board in place.

Darn, I see that I am missing a 24k and two 0.1 uf capacitors on the main board. I think I might go ahead and mount the main board and just solder those components in from the top when I get them.

naaa, put them in before you buckle down the board...

I don't think a solder bridge to the chassis would do much good for tone.

Very close to completion. I already checked the 12V circuit by connecting the 12V transformer to the mains through a make-shift fuse. The relays and LEDs function as they should.

First plug-in test. The rectifier and first stage of the PS are OK. I'll progressively hook up each stage and check. When it is all ok, the tubes go in!

I fired it up and had bias problems. I found 20ACV on the bias circuit.

Look at this picture, between the two capacitors there is supposed to be a ground wire. All that is visible is the hole (faint light area; does not show up well.)

Where in the heck did the wire go?? I actually posted this picture in the link below back in 2009 showing how I made the boards. The wire was clearly there. Maybe it fell off or something. Either way, I have to take the board off and put a new one on.
