Fuchs casinoline boost... Not PAB?

Post by Bigwan »

Stumbled on this the other day while investigating low watt power sections. The fuchs 4 aces has a boost that doesn't work like the standard Dumble pab in that the tone stack is still connected. Anyone care to suggest how it's being done? My first thought was switching cathode bypass cap values...

If you do a search on PAB variations you will find quite a bit of information on different approaches including things like adding a 56k or 68k or higher resistor between mid and bass pots and ground.

That would still have the tone stack engaged.

The article is riddled with questionable facts, could it be that when he says 'Mid Boost' he actually means PAB?

If it is a Bluesmaster variant, then saying 'I read online that most players use this model either clean, clean/mid-boost, or OD/mid-boost, never OD channel without mid-boost.' would hold true.

Just a thought,

Paul. :?
