DUMBLE OVERDRIVE SPECIAL FULL-RIG 'Estate Items in Mint Condition'
Alexander DUMBLE built this rig for Todd Epstein in 1994:
Dumble Overdrive Special #0180, Speakers, Dumbleator II with Foot-Pedal, All stored in grey Road-Cases.

Glassy Tone and Electronic Amplification

This Dumble Rig is perfect for a Musician who wants glassy tone with powerful electronic amplification.
The Dumble Rig includes: Dumble #0180 Overdrive Special 100, Dumbleator II, Speakers, Foot-pedal; all enclosed in new-looking grey road-cases.

Virtually Never Used ~ Epstein passed away in 1995. I have protected and preserved this Dumble Rig in it's original condition in the original road-cases, 100%. Epstein played this rig about a dozen times at home and twice on stage.

Long Ago in the 1970-1980's -Dumble and Epstein both lived in Santa Cruz. Dumble owned a Music Electronics Shop that specialized exclusively in up-grading musical electronics. Epstein played Rock and Roll, Jazz and Blues here in Santa Cruz. Epstein probably had every Dumble Modification possible for his Vintage '62 Fender Bassman (photo shown here) and (listed now on Ebay: Dumble Modified This 62 Fender Bassman).

Epstein, verging on a come-back in 1993-94, visited Dumble several times at his Music Electronics Shop in LA - as this Overdrive Special Rig was being created. Epstein's side-agreement with Dumble: Epstein would become 'Famous' and help promote the Dumble Overdrive Special at guitar shows - etc..

Guitar Player Magazine once listed the 25 most expensive vintage amps. in the world.

The Dumble Overdrive Special was #1.

That is cool. I'm gonna talk to my wife and see if I can cash out my 401k to buy that.

Why is there a shirtless man in one of the pics?

From this bio it sounds like Epstein was a good dude.

Nothing about the shirtless man though.

$50,100. I bet you could talk him down to $50,000 even.

The pic with the shirtless guy is kinda disconcerting. What? Why?

The inclusion of the GP article in the ad is weird as well.

Looks like a clean amp. I wonder how clean it is inside? :P

Maybe the shirtless dude is the current owner?

But for the pics of the house, not sure...

Maybe the guy actually bought the whole estate when Todd died(?)

Look at the picture of Todd with the amp, then look at the pic of the house AND the pic of the shirtless guy with the road cases....sure looks like the same large log construction to me......

Just a guess, but he does also have another of Todd's amps, and who knows what else he bought from the estate.

Hey, leave us Northwesterners out of it. We do therapy the old-fashioned way, coffee and beer.

Dumble modified Bassman from same seller:

Doesn't look like all that much was done to it compared to some other Dumble mods.

There are definitely some mods in the normal channel of the bassman. Stage 2's plate resistor is 220k with a 2.7k cathode resistor as well as a .01 coupling cap to an added master volume pot on the back. And it has what looks to be Dumble's two band tonestack.
