Badcat Unleash

Post by Luddy »

I will post a similar thread in the Trainwreck Discussion forum. What do you think about this: http://www.badcatamps.com/unleash.html.

It sits between the speaker out and the speaker. It attenuates and boosts up to 100 watts.

I use Weber attenuators at home, and feel OK about them. But this seems to be a much different animal.

Why is this in the Dumble section? I think it is more appropriate for a more general section.

I forgot to mention that I would use this with a Quinn SDO, and wondered if anyone has tried it with any other D-style amp.

The Unleash sounds great. It is much more transparent than the Weber attenuators that I have used my my Ceriatone OTS and Quinn SDO. All of the nuances that I get without an attenuator are very much present. Since my Quinn is 15w, if I ever need more volume, the Unleash will boost up to 100w. The only downer is a small fan, which can easily be heard several feet away.

I am on a list for a pair of these things. I heard one on a Deluxe thing the other day that blowed me up. It's a great idea.

Small fan? Drunk? Li'l people can't hold their liquor.
