Dumble head cab/enclosure plan

Post by BreakingBad »

Hi,

Is there someone who could help me find the head cabinet plan for a Dumble style amp. I've got it for the speaker cab (found on this forum) but I don't have the plans or blueprints for the head enclosure. I could buy one from AFcustom amps i'm not sure about the name but they seems excellent even though i'm kind on a small budget and it you cost me 1000 for the enclosure of the head and cabinet.

Thank you.

My drawing gets around a bit!!. That isn't a traditional Dumble shell, its more in the style of a TR. And it was based on a Ceriatone chassis, not sure if that is a standard size.

Drawn with CorelDraw, if anyone wants a copy of the original file PM me.

I've used AF Custom Cabs a few times now, their work is very good and well priced...however, they are U.K based.

I'd be happy to build you a cab and shipping to Canada is very reasonable from Boston through ups.

I don't recommend UPS shipping to Canada. USPS is cheaper and better for Canadians.

Ceriatone chassis is wider, plus there is extra clearance for the screw heads
on each side.

You have to reduce the width or there will be too much of a gap when you
use the CE chassis.

This is true, I built an amp with the CE chassis which is 19" wide I believe.

I ended up putting this chassis in a Ceriatone head cab which has a opening width of 19 3/8".

There is a gap on each side of the chassis in front but since it is all black it's not too obvious.

Just be sure to measure everything before you build the cab for a good fit.

Maybe this rough drawing will help you get started. I just finished this black cab yesterday using the dimensions in the drawing.

Yeah, I've been going slow at it... I guess I started it before my daughter was born (started sourcing parts, reading this site, etc) and now she's 2... if that says anything.... it was much easier to work on before she could crawl and walk... now my time is devoted to her and another hobby that has occupied my interest for the moment. but i'm ready to circle back around, this cabinet is motivation enough!

Time to finish it.

BTW - Taylor's cabinet looks so much better in person than in photos. These photos do not do the head cab justice. Man, that suede really is "dressy". Amazing cabinet!!!
