Sorry if I'm flogging a dead horse here, but can anyone help me how to wire this switch in Rock mode permanently?
If I'm seeing right, this layout

shows that in Rock mode the .1 bass cap is connected to the first and second (wiper) lug of the bass pot, but also to the third lug of the treble pot (I mean, are the upper lugs (Rock side) of the switch shorted by that little red wire)? Is this correct?

I removed the switch altogether on my 102 build using this diagram.

Thanks! So I don't need .0022 and .02 caps on the bass pot?

well the #102 and the second generation are different, the 2nd gen has a 1M pot so it depends on which version you're making.
I don't think they have anything to do with the rock/ jazz though.

IIRC the .0022 cap is shorted out in rock mode but the .022 cap remains and is a significant part of these early tonestacks.

Thanks for the info. I just did the mod to my fender bassman / dumble conversion.
