What chassis did Dumble repurpose for his amps?

Post by Matthews Guitars »

Out of sheer curiosity, what chassis types did Dumble repurpose for various amps he built?

I'm aware that he'd sometimes do one-offs, such as KWS's amp built in a Fender Pro Reverb, but I'm more interested in the types that he used more often.

For example, I've heard that an SSS was built in an SVT chassis....but which version SVT?

All but positive, Ry Cooder’s Borderline Special amp was built into an Ampeg chassis, SVT/V9 maybe.

If someone has a working link to the Borderline pics, we can better decipher which Ampeg chassis in particular.

The Borderline Special.
